KIDS DUATHLON
The 2010 Osceola Kids Duathlon distances by age group are as follows:
  • Ages 3-6: 1/8 mile run 1/2 mile bike 1/8 mile run
  • Ages 7-10: 1/4 mile run 1 mile bike 1/4 mile run
  • Ages 11-12: 1/2 mile run 2 mile bike 1/2 mile run
All courses will be extremely safe as they will take place on the Osceola High and Intermediate School Campus.

EVENT RULES AND INFORMATION

NO MP3 players, IPODs, radios or headphones allowed on the bike course.

There is no time limit for the event, however chip timing may be closed at three-hour mark.

Helmets are mandatory on bike course.

Drafting is not permitted. Penalties will be enforced for drafting.

Participants will start in waves. Announcers will update you on wave starts. Waves will begin with Elites and Relays. Then regular age-group waves will begin.

Bike mechanics will be available on Race Day

The chin strap on your helmet must be buckled at all times while you ride your bike during the race, as well as to and from the race site. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

You may not ride your bicycle in the transition area. Observe the mandatory mounting and dismounting area when exiting and entering the transition area with your bike. Riding in the transition area will result in a disqualification.

Once the race starts, each cyclist is responsible for the repair and maintenance of his/her bike. Be prepared for flat tires and maintenance issues. There will be mechanics on the course, but you cannot expect a timely repair.

All cyclists are responsible at all times for their safety and compliance with traffic laws while on the bike course and are solely responsible for the consequences of any infractions.

No one except registered participants, official volunteers and approved media personnel will be allowed in the transition area. Family or friends are not allowed inside the transition area at any time during the race.

Glass containers of any kind are not allowed in the transition area.



Prizes for all races will be awarded at the Official Post Race Party and Awards Ceremonies at Tippy Canoes Restaurant in Osceola scheduled for 2:00 PM following the races www.TippyCanoes.com. Redeem your Free Beverage with your race bib and receive your award or cheer your racing colleagues.
